How does it work?

2. A local Gas Safe registered engineer reviews the photos or visits to look at the system, the gas supply and where the flue can go.
3. You get a written quote: the boiler you choose plus the installation fee.

There is no fixed price list because every home differs. A like-for-like combi swap in the same spot is a very different job from moving a boiler, converting from a tank-fed system or replacing an old back boiler.

Which boilers are fitted?

Engineers commonly fit well-known brands such as Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Viessmann and Glow-worm. They’ll help you choose the right type (combi, system or regular) and output for your home and hot water use.

What paperwork do you get?

The engineer notifies the installation through Gas Safe Register, so you receive a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate in the post. They also register the manufacturer’s warranty and leave you the commissioning record. Keep both safe for when you sell or remortgage.
